Indonesia Independence Day Celebration, Development Parade 2022

In remembrance of Indonesian’s Independence Day, The Municipal Government of Surakarta city and its stakeholder hold Independence Parade, 19th August 2022.  More than 75 participants join the parade, after its 2 years of hiatus because of the Covid Pandemic, in celebration of 77th Independence Day of Indonesia. The participants include local government apparatus, schools, communities and general public.

The Parade took route from Lapangan Kota Barat (west city square) as start point then pass through Slamet Riyadi Street to Solo’s City Hall as finish point. Vice Major of Municipal Government of Surakarta City, Teguh Prakosa, join and lead the Parade by riding on a tank, which already prepared to join the Parade entourage. Traditional performing arts such as; Lembu Sura, Buto Bajang, Gajah Krumpyung and Barong Kemamang also joined the Parade.

The parade is a momentous event as a mark to fight back against the Covid Pandemic that many countries struggle with.
