Solo Menari 2022 Held in Hybrid

Solo, 28/4/2022 – Government of Surakarta city held Solo Menari 2022 in a hybrid event on Friday, 2022 April 29^th at 8 AM to 5.30 PM.

Solo Menari 2022 held in five locations, they are Solo Square main lobby, in front of the Mayor of Surakarta city office house (Loji Gandrung), Triwindu Antique Market area, McDonald’s Slamet Riyadi parking area, and Surakarta town hall. The audiences were not only watch directly in the five locations, but the event could be watch virtually in Youtube channel Disbudpar Surakarta, Pariwisata Solo and Gibran TV.

The Head of Surakarta Cultural and Tourism Office, Drs. Aryo Widyandoko, M.H said that “Solo Menari is one of event which  held for celebrating  the World Dance day while it is also strenghtening the image of Solo city as the center of Javanese culture and tourist attraction.”

Theme of Solo Menari 2022 is Gatra Manggala Muda means The young leader who build a city. This event expected to be a place for uniting young leaders in Solo city to build a city.

Solo Menari 2022 was opened by The head of Surakarta Cultural and Tourism office in Solo Square main lobby at 8 AM. The opening of event was symbolized by giving an irah-irahan to  one of dancer. (Irah-irahan means dancer head accessories)

Minister of Tourism and Economy Creative of Indonesia, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno and three young figures of Solo city: Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka, KGPAA Mangkunagoro X, and Crown Prince of Kasunanan Surakarta Palace Purboyo closed Solo Menari 2022 event in Surakarta town hall at 5.15 PM symbolized by launching arrows as a sign of closing Solo Menari 2022.

Solo Menari 2022 took Wayang Orang as one of Surakarta city icon and it was as performance in Solo Menari 2022 which showed Banjaran Parikesit with plataran puppet show concept. The performance was colossal and modern by Diwasa Diranagara as Director.

Solo Menari 2022 supported by more than 500 people such as dancer, pengrawit (means  a professional person in the field of gamelan music), make up artist, dance trainer, choreographer, director, artistic director, accompaniment arranger, and art worker. Supporters of Solo Menari 2022 include Wayang Orang Sriwedari, Wayang Orang RRI Surakarta, SBG Community, Candrakirana Semarak Studio, Gedhong Kuning Studio, Matrataya, Adanu Jumantoro Studio, Senjasri Community, Metta Budaya Studio, Sarwi Retno Budoyo Studio, and Soeryo Soemirat Studio.
