Solo Menari 2023, “Dancing the Public Space”

Until now, Solo City still maintains the Javanese traditional arts, especially dance and creates several international scale dance maestros. Making Solo City become a destination for performing arts cities for foreign performing arts artists to study and perform.

Realizing that Solo City is now a modern city. Optimizing and enlivening public spaces is an important part of the growth of cities and their people. To celebrate World Dance Day 2023 on April 29, in the SOLO MENARI program, dancers will dance on the city’s public space stage – ‘Dancing the Public Space’ to interact with the public directly.

Not only performing the Bedhayan mass dance in the Ngarsopuro corridor, but also presenting Javanese traditional dances, presenting Ramayana Pasar Gede performances at Pasar Gede Hardjonagoro, Kauman Dancing & Fashion Dances at Kauman Batik Village, Community Arts & Dance Market performances at Triwindu Market, Urban Dance performances at Gatsu Corridor and Modern Dance performances at Paragon Mall. This program will be useful in strengthening the identity of the City of Solo as a City of Performing Arts and increasing tourist visits to the City of Solo.

SOLO MENARI 2023, this year was selected to be included in 100 selected events in the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2023 program from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
