ASEAN Para Games Torch Relay

Sunday (July 24^th, 2022) a torch relay to mark the beginning of the 22nd ASEAN Para Games was attended by the Minister of tourism and creative economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno along with numerous artists from the capital of Indonesia which are Rian d’Masiv, Mario Lawalata, Ferry Maryadi, Deswita Maharani, Raim Laode, Haikal Baron, and Mia Ismi.

Purwosari became the parade’s starting line where the minister along with the public figures jog to Stadion Sriwedari. There, Mr. Sandiaga Uno passed the torch to the head of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC). After receiving the torch, the head of the NPC relayed the torch to the athletes to run a Victory Lap.

At the end of the Victory Lap, the torch was then passed to the vice Mayor for a relay session with Forkopimda and the artist up until Gladak, where the torch will be carried by the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The torch was carried by the Mayor from Gladak to Balaikota Surakarta (Surakarta City Hall) to lit the Cauldron and followed by a medal ceremony for all Torch Bearer and Inaspoc. Finally, the event concluded with a dance show.
