This museum stands in the Sriwedari cultural area to be precise at Jalan Bhayangkara no 2 Sriwedari Laweyan Surakarta city, based on UNESCO’s recognition of the keris as a non-material world cultural heritage on November 25 2005 in Paris France The keris museum was built in 2013 and inaugurated on August 9 2017 by the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia Ir. H. Joko Widodo. Various kinds of keris from all regions of the archipelago are in this museum. This museum aims to introduce the noble keris culture to society in the midst of a very massive progress of time.
