Solo Jebres Station has been designated as a Cultural Heritage Station Building based on the Decree of the Minister of Tourism and Culture No: PM. 57/PW.007/MKP/2010 and the Regent’s Decree No. 646/1-R/1/2013. Solo Jebres Station was built in 1884 by the Government of the Kasunanan Surakarta through the Dutch East Indies railway company Staats Spoorwegen (SS). Currently, Jebres Station serves as one of the main stations for economy-class transportation to Jakarta and Surabaya, as well as a freight or cargo station to several cities, and as one of the tourism destination stations in Solo.
The architecture of Solo Jebres Station is in the Indische Empire style, featuring a richly detailed facade heavily influenced by Neoclassical elements. The building is symmetrical in shape, with emphasis on the main entrance marked by a raised roof and distinct facade treatment. The central section, which draws the most attention, is characterized by a triangular pediment formed by the gable roofs decorated with cornices below, two lunettes or arched windows above, and two arched doors. The symmetrical composition of these elements creates a grand impression, enhanced by Art Nouveau-style jalousie details on the doors and the placement of molding lines on the walls. A steel canopy has been added to mark the entrance.
