Bekas Rumah Sakit Kadipolo

Originally, this building was constructed as a polyclinic for the palace servants, called Panti Raga. Rumah Sakit Kadipolo is a general hospital owned by the Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace, established by KSIS Paku Buwana X for public use alongside the establishment of Mangunjayan Mental Hospital in 1916.

RS Kadipolo was founded in 1915. At that time, the hospital was built to treat the plague outbreak that struck the Kasunanan Surakarta region. RS Kadipolo was established during the reign of Sunan Paku Buwana X. Initially, the building was specifically constructed as a polyclinic for the palace servants.

In 1960, the palace handed over RS Kadipolo entirely, including building investments and all its employees and nurses, to the Surakarta local government due to financial difficulties. On July 1, 1960, efforts began to merge RS Kadipolo with RS Jebres and RS Mangkubumen under one director, Dr. Sutejo. Afterwards, each hospital specialized: RS Jebres for children, RS Kadipolo for internal medicine and obstetrics, and RS Mangkubumen for accident victims.

On August 1, 1976, patients were moved from RS Kadipolo to RS Mangkubumen in preparation for the establishment of SPK (Sekolah Pendidikan Keperawatan / Nursing Education School). The patient transfer was completed in early April 1977. On April 24, 1977, SPK officially began operating in the RS Kadipolo building. Since 1985, the building has been owned by the Arseto football club and used as residence and dormitory for Arseto Solo players. However, nowadays most of the building has been left empty and neglected.
