II | DESKRIPSI | ||||||
Description | : | The geographical spatial unit of Sriwedari is a garden with a rectangular base plan stretching from west to east on the south side of Jalan Brigjen Slamet Riyadi. The park area as a whole originally included the land that is now the location of the Sriwedari Stadium, Mangunjayan Mental Hospital (now moved to Kentingan, then now the Keris Museum), the Wayang Orang Building, cinema (now the Solo Arts Building and the People’s Leisure Park), Museum Radya Pustaka, and an artificial lake called Segaran. In the middle of Segaran there is a punthuk that looks like a hill forming an island, which is given a stage building with a circular wall decorated with colorful glass and given carvings. The building is called Panti Pangaksi. Around the stage was decorated with statues made of andesite stone, so it looks beautiful and fun. The lower part of the stage is made like a cave, which is named “Guwa Swara”, derived from the words guwa and swara which mean “Sound Cave”. This room is used to store palace gamelan instruments, namely Gamelan Satiswaran. The provision of the Guwa Swara room is done to ensure that the gamelan is always ready when needed, for example to accompany a celebration. |
