Pamardi Putri School was established to educate the daughters and female relatives of the royal family. Following the founding of HIS Kasatriyan (a Western-style school for royal boys) in 1910, HIS Pamardi Putri was established in January 1927 to serve female students only. As a result, the previously co-educational HIS Kasatriyan transferred its female students to Pamardi Putri and became an all-boys school.
