Dalem Ngabean is one of the royal residences (dalem kapangeranan) within the Surakarta Palace complex, originally belonging to Prince Hangabei. This residence also holds historical significance due to the marriage between Prince Hangabei and Regent Nayoko, KRMT. Wuryaningrat, who was the son-in-law of His Majesty Sunan Pakubuwono X.

Dalem Ngabean underwent reconstruction in 1986. However, the ownership of the building has since changed hands and now belongs to the family of former President Soeharto. The architectural layout of Dalem Ngabean includes several traditional Javanese structures: kuncungan (gate pavilion), pendopo (main pavilion), pringgitan (transitional space between pendopo and inner house), and senthong (inner chamber).
