Dalem Mloyokusuman is owned by GPH Mloyokusumo, the son of King PB IX. He is the younger brother of Paku Buwono X but has a different mother. He was an empu, a master blacksmith who forged the famous kris (traditional dagger) owned by the Karaton (palace) of Surakarta Hadiningrat. Even today, the remnants of the building that was once used for forging kris can still be found behind the house on the right side, though in a neglected state.

One of the unique aspects of Dalem Mloyokusuman is the tomb of Ki Gede Sala, which is located behind the house on the left side. Ki Gede Sala is known as the founding figure of the region named Sala, which is now called Solo. Once a year, the tomb of Ki Gede Sala is visited by the Surakarta City Government officials to commemorate the anniversary of Solo City.
