Bruderan Purbayan is a school and dormitory for prospective Catholic brothers (bruders), established on June 23, 1926, with the mission of advancing education, particularly in the field of Catholic religious education. Its founding is closely linked to the efforts of the FIC (Factrum Immaculatae Conceptionis) Community in Yogyakarta and Father Hoevenaars.

Father Hoevenaars appointed Brother Mathias to visit Solo, and in May 1925, a house located in Purbayan, Solo, was approved for use as a bruderan. The construction of the institution was then entrusted to Brother Pemenang, and the first superior (overste) was Brother Siardus. To support effective communication, two Javanese brothers were also appointed: Brother Aloysius Soegiardjo and Brother Yacobus Hendrowarsito.

The building consists of two floors, with a monitor (ventilation structure) on the roof of the main building. Its architecture is enhanced by stained glass decorations (bovenlicht) that add beauty and character to the structure.
