“Selikuran” Night Tradition

By implementing the Health Protocol, Kirab Malam Selikuran is held

Celebrated every 21st night, this year’s Selikuran Night Tradition at the Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace is carried out with a health protocol. Held in a procession, the kirab starts from the Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat Palace to the Great Mosque of Surakarta. Tumpeng Sewu and Ting Lamp (Lantern) became icons at the Kirab Malam Selikuran.

This celebration aims to welcome the night of Lailatul Qadar which comes on the odd day of the month of Ramadhan and is called a night that is more glorious than a thousand months. Carrying out this year’s kirab brushed aside the longing for the people because it was eliminated last year.
