Cabuk Rambak Solo

This menu becomes favorite food in Solo, it’s called cabuk rambak. Cabuk rambak is ketupat or gendar (a type of dumpling made from rice packed inside a diamond-shaped container of woven palm leaf pouch). The different cabuk rambak from the other ketupat from the other cities is the seasoning. The seasoning of cabuk rambak made from fried sesame mixed with coconut milk, chili, garlic, nutmeg and brown sugar. Karak (rice crackers) usually used as topping together the seasoning. More attractive, cabuk rambak eaten using a wooden stick. Cabuk rambak is commonly sold around settlement on weekdays or during Sekaten Celebration around Agung Mosque in Surakarta Palace.
